Therapy For Women & Non-Binary Folk in California

Break Free from Family Trauma and Codependency Through Online Therapy

Are you the one who always had to keep the peace, hold it all together, or meet everyone else’s needs first? Maybe you were the responsible one, the fixer, or the emotional caretaker—roles that left little room for your own needs, identity, or peace of mind. If you’re feeling anxious, burnt out, or unsure of who you are outside of your family’s expectations, you’re not alone—and you don’t have to keep carrying it all by yourself.

I work with women and non-binary folk breaking free from toxic family dynamics—codependency, narcissism, addiction, codependent relationships, and controlling parents—and help them learn to put themselves first. Whether you're navigating big life changes, setting boundaries, or healing anxiety and depression, I offer a space where your story is seen, your voice matters, and your healing begins.

My approach to therapy is three-fold. I help my clients discover the “why” of their struggles through exploring attachment, identifying the dysfunction in their family system, and determining the role they play within it. Then, I help them create healthier relationships with others that prioritize their own needs through developing assertive communication skills, setting healthy boundaries, and learning emotional regulation. Lastly, I teach my clients how to make changes in their daily lives to promote healing and growth through mindfulness, values-based goal setting, and coping skills.

Whether you are trying to break free from old relationship patterns, want to start putting yourself first, or are trying to create a life for yourself that is more fulfilling, I'm here to help.

Let’s reconnect you with you.

About You

The Professional

You’re a go-getter. You work long hours and are passionate about your career. You’ve designed your life around becoming the independent, successful person your younger self always wanted to be (or maybe your parents!). You’re climbing the professional ladder, breaking ceilings and always striving for more. But sometimes all this hard work leaves you feeling depressed and stressed, and lately you’ve felt completed burned out. Sometimes you work well past 5 o’clock, you often put your self-care on the back-burner, and who knows when the last time you had a vacation was. You notice your performance is starting to slip and more often than not you’re watching the clock to see when the day will be over. You know this isn’t the professional you want to be and you don’t feel true to yourself going on like this. You know you need help, but are overwhelmed thinking of where to start.

The Creative

You strive to build a world for yourself filled with inspiration and creativity. Whether you’re an artisan, an influencer, a content creator, or a podcaster, you pour your heart into your craft. Your days are long, and more often than not, the line between work and play is blurred. When it comes to your craft, you are your biggest tool. That’s why it is so important for you to keep yourself well in all aspects of your life. When you’re feeling anxious or depressed, this can often spread into your artistic life and cause procrastination, stagnation, and low self-worth (perhaps this was a message passed down to you by your parents?). Through the therapeutic process, you can learn valuable self care tools to help you continue to feel and create your best. You wouldn’t let your paint brush or camera sit broken, so why should you let your mental health do the same?

The Lover

You are the life of the party. You love spending time with the people around you and it makes you so happy to help others in any way you can. You’re always there when a friend calls needing your support, and you definitely are going to be helping with every apartment move, every babysitting need, and every tire change. You are an empath. A giver. A truly great friend. But does anyone give back to you? Sometimes you wear yourself thin trying to meet the needs of others and you neglect to say “No” when you need to take time for yourself. You worry if you’ll be a bad friend for doing so. You often feel resentful because others take advantage of your care. You know you need to have better boundaries in your relationships. You don’t need to feel guilty for getting your needs met.

Childhood family dysfunction can take on many forms in adulthood. From anxiety and depression to substance abuse and overworking yourself, these patterns often show up as attempts to cope, feel safe, or earn love in ways you were once taught. Healing means recognizing these roots, rewriting the story, and learning you are worthy of peace without having to earn it.

The Student

Whether you’re you a Freshman in college or an adult learner, being a student is hard work. When you spend long hours studying and have to balance a social life with academics and a part time job, your mental health can be one of the first priorities to slide. You’re in school to better yourself and create a future that you want to live, so why let your emotional and mental wellbeing deteriorate? When you take time to take care of yourself, you will better be able to face the rigors of academia, and be more present in all aspects of your life. This is a time for growth and exploration, but there is no road map that points you in the right direction. By utilizing therapy, you can learn solid skills to help you manage stress, have more positive relationships, learn better organization and time management techniques, and create a school/life balance that feeds your mind and soul.

The Caretaker

You’re the responsible one. The fixer. The one everyone turns to when things fall apart. Maybe you were the child who comforted your parent, managed your siblings, or kept the peace when no one else would. Even now, you feel the pressure to hold it all together—for your family, your partner, your friends. You anticipate everyone’s needs before they ask and feel guilty when you can’t be everything to everyone. But beneath that strength, you’re exhausted. You’re overwhelmed, anxious, and wondering when it will be your turn to be cared for. You’re not supposed to parent everyone else. It’s time to unlearn the roles you were forced to play and reclaim space for your own needs, voice, and healing.

About My Practice

I have a Telehealth practice based out of California. My hours are work days between 8 am and 6 pm. I accept multiple insurances including Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Cross of Massachusetts and New Jersey, Carelon, Cigna, Optum/United, and Quest. I use Headway and Alma to conduct all of my sessions.

I consider myself to be a very interactive therapist while in session. Though I leave room for processing, I find it valuable to talk through problems to find solutions for them, and like to have patients leaving sessions feeling like they gained a new insight about themselves or have a new skill they can implement their daily lives. Some of the modalities I employ are mindfulness, guided visualization, creative arts, and somatic interventions. Each session is unique to the individual I am working with, and I encourage all of my clients to be collaborative and voice their needs to make sure they are finding the value they require to create actionable change in their lives.
